Executive, CEO & environmental portraits

Studio polish, or your office as the backdrop

A clean studio headshot reads sharp on a bio or LinkedIn profile. An environmental portrait — shot in your office, boardroom or on location — tells a fuller story: it places a CEO or founder in their world and signals scale and seriousness. Both are the same price and the same session time, so the only question is the look you want. Many executives book both in one sitting: a tight headshot for directories and LinkedIn, and a wider environmental frame for press, speaking bios and the company leadership page.

What to expect

Three steps, no guesswork

STEP 1

Setup & settle in

I arrive about 15 minutes early to set up lighting, so we start the moment you do. The session is relaxed and low-pressure — a little conversation to loosen up — but if you're an executive on the clock, I work fast and still get you a range of strong options.

STEP 2

Shoot & review live

A directed shoot — you'll be told exactly how to stand, turn and hold, no guessing or awkward silence. We review images together on the iPad as we go, so you leave knowing we got the shot. Many top attorneys and executives are surprised by how quickly it goes.

STEP 3

Choose & deliver

After the shoot you get an online proof gallery to pick your favorites. Final images are retouched to studio-grade and delivered within days, with a final invoice based on the number of images you choose — less the retainer already paid.

Author, speaker & public-figure portraits

Trusted for author photos, book jackets and speaking bios

Beyond corporate headshots, executive and author portraits are a core part of the work — the kind of image that runs on a book jacket, speaker page, press kit, author bio or national publication feature. Subjects have included Terry Virts, retired NASA astronaut, ISS commander and National Geographic author; Eve Herold, award-winning science author; Alyson J. McGregor, MD, author of Sex Matters; and poet-author Glenis Redmond.

Frequently asked questions

Executive headshot FAQ

How much does an executive headshot cost in Greenville, SC?

+
The Signature, a single definitive finished image, is $650. The Standard, the most-booked session with multiple looks, is $1,250. The Portfolio, a full editorial set, is $2,500. A standard usage license is included with every session.

How many images do I get and how do I choose them?

+
You review a curated set of proofs from the session and choose your finished images from there. The Signature includes one finished image with three proofs; The Standard includes three finished images across two to three looks; The Portfolio includes eight finished images across multiple looks and locations. Additional finished images are $150 each.

Can I use my headshot in paid advertising or press?

+
Standard licensing covers internal and owned-channel use such as your website, LinkedIn, firm bio and marketing emails. Paid ads, billboards, third-party publications and press syndication require an extended commercial license at $500 per image. Editorial and unrestricted use is quoted per project.

How do I prepare for a headshot session?

+
Sleep and hydrate, plan your wardrobe two days out, and iron or steam everything. Trim facial hair the night before. For The Standard and above, a pre-shoot consult covers wardrobe and location.

What should I wear for a professional headshot?

+
Solid mid-tone colors such as navy, charcoal, olive or oxblood. Avoid pure black, pure white and busy patterns. Fitted, not tight. Bring two options if you are unsure and we will choose on-site.

Do you offer hair and makeup?

+
Hair and makeup is strongly recommended for The Standard and The Portfolio. Bring your own artist or be connected with a vetted local one. Keep makeup natural and matte, as sparkle reads as shine on camera.

What is your turnaround time?

+
Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 business days, 72 hours for The Portfolio, and a same-day rush is available for a $250 surcharge if booked in advance.

Do you travel for headshots?

+
Yes. Greenville and the Upstate are included. Charlotte, Asheville and Columbia are available with a $150 regional travel fee. Atlanta and farther markets are quoted based on travel requirements.

Where do sessions take place?

+
Sessions take place in-studio or on-location in and around Greenville, SC, depending on the look you want and the session tier.

What is an environmental headshot, and does it cost more?

+
An environmental headshot is photographed on location — your office, boardroom or another setting that reflects your work — rather than against a studio backdrop. It costs the same as a studio session and takes the same time, so you choose based purely on the look you want. Many executives book a tight studio headshot and a wider environmental frame in the same sitting.
